When an event fires that triggers an alert, I want Zenoss to send the alert multiple times (in case the first alert is missed) until the issue is resolved.
I am testing implementations where the alert is sent for the first three times, then like once an hour for the next few hours until a clear or ack is received. I can accomplish this using the filters in the alerting rules. I setup multiple rules on /ZenUser/<username>/Alerting Rules, and then each one gets a count filter, the first <=3, then =15, =25, =35, etc. This accomplishes the goal of getting multiple alerts until the problem is cleared. The issue is when the problem is cleared, I get multiple Clear messages (one for each alert that was sent). I am trying to configure it so that I only receive one Clear to avoid clutering people's inboxes and phones. Any suggestions on how to accomplish the one clear message, even if multiple alerts are sent for a particular event? Also, if there is a different way to accomplish sending multiple alerts per event that would make this easier/better let me know. ------------------------ Mark Yeiter -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10235#10235 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
