This is an area where, IMO, ZenOSS needs to provide a really good
write-up/HOWTO on how to accomplish this (and incidentally, create ZenPacks
also) on the Wiki. I'm currently pursuing this in tandem with Enterprise
product evaluation... it's obviously hard for me to consider paying a lot for
something "extra" when it's not even possible to use get all the features in
the Free version working.
Judging from the number of detailed posts discussing what code to modify how,
it's obvious that it's still being worked out and is changing under-the-hood.
That's all well and good I think that there's that much flexibility, better
than not, but without documentation we're kinda stuck.
If you figure it out, let us all know :)

PS - ZenOSS, consider this a "feature request" :)

Does anyone have a template for a Brocade switch?
If not, I assume I need to do a plugin to place the Fibre Channel
interfaces into the interfaces map(?) in the interfaces section in the
OS tab? Any suggestions on a starting point? InterfaceMap.py or
CiscoHSRP.py?
Also, once the plugin is done, wouldn't the default template
ethernetCsmacd need to be changed for EACH interface (since there is a
LOT more information to collect) or could I create a new one which can
be picked up automatically by the interface name type?
- Doing this for each interface would be a killer. There are MANY
interfaces. I am assuming create local is a local copy for that specific
interface. I could probably deal with a switch by switch scenario but
still rather not do that. It seems that the templates for the interfaces
is less flexible than the performance one.
- Where is a new one created so when a new switch is added to this
class it would be picked up? I don't see a place where I can add a
template when in the os/<interface name> section. Only create local copy
is available.
Or do I need to create a whole new tab to get/display this info?
Thanx in advance!
