The most common solution to this problem is to go to the Event Manager, click the menu and choose Clear All Heartbeats. The reason this works is that all of the daemons send heartbeat messages into the Zenoss event system using their hostname. When the hostname changes Zenoss expects to keep receiving these heartbeats, but they're coming in with a different hostname now. Clearing all heartbeats will remove the references to the old hostname.
