Thanks for the great feedback! The VMware image is very restricted on disk 
space and memory. It is mainly intended as an environment to demo the look and 
feel of Zenoss. It definitely isn't up to the task of monitoring a 450 device 
network. For this you would need to configure a proper server, or install on a 
real host OS within a VM on a more powerful server.

The interface can be a bit to take in at first, but I think most people find 
that it does start to make a lot of sense after some break-in.

As far as the zenstatus goes, you may want to take a look at its log file 
$ZENHOME/log/zenstatus.log to see if there are any errors when it stops. You 
can then search the forum for them and probably find the explanation and fix in 
short order.
