Hi

I'm evaluating the Zenoss product for service and system monitoring but I've
run in to a problem with the collection and graphing of plugin data.

I'm using the Zenoss virtual appliance (2.0.6) and i've followed the
instructions in the Admin guide for monitoring with zencommand (pages 115-119).
I've created a new device for a web server (petroweb) for which I can collect
data:

zencommand run -d petroweb -v10
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:Process check_http -H 10.150.197.6 -r ".*" stopped (0),
0.103764 elapsed
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:The result of "/opt/zenoss/libexec/check_http -H
10.150.197.6 -r ".*"" was "HTTP OK HTTP/1.1 200 OK - 0.105 second response time
|time=0.105321s;;;0.000000 size=55880B;;;0"
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:storing time = 0.105321 in:
/Devices/petroweb/rootWebCheck_time
DEBUG:zen.RRDUtil:/home/zenoss/perf/Devices/petroweb/rootWebCheck_time.rrd:
0.105321

I can look through the rrd file and see that data is assimilated correctly (no
NaNs for in-range data):

[EMAIL PROTECTED] petroweb]$ rrdtool dump
/home/zenoss/perf/Devices/petroweb/rootWebCheck_time.rrd| grep "2007-09-20 11:1"

But when I navigate to the perf tab for the device I don't see any graph.
There's a box where the graph should be, the magnifying glass icons and the
scroll arrows, but no data.
There's nothing in /tmp/renderserver so I guess it's not getting created for
some reason. Graphs do appear for localhost.localdomain performance data so
it's not a generic graphing problem.

Any advice for debugging this further?

Many thanks,
Andy
