I am running Zenoss (newest version) on Kubuntu Feisty. It has taken some time to configure, however got it working ok (for now). I have noticed that I stop getting text messages, while still getting some email messages, then stop getting all. When I go to alerting rules to check on the two email accounts, they are now set to False under the Enabled field. What would cause this? I only see a Zen Heartbeat failure in the logs (other then a lot of errors with devices previous to the Heartbeat issue.
I can't think of any reason why your alerting rules would be switched to disabled behind your back like that. You can try looking at all the modifications on the alerting rules to get an idea of when, and who changed properties of the alerting rule.
Go to the alerting rule, then add /viewHistory to the end of the URL. This will allow you to see all of the changes ever made on the object.
