I added entries for my devices in /etc/hosts, so that hasn't presented any problems for the other 25 devices that set up successfully.
But, I do have some additional tidbits of info... During the time I attempted to add a device or remodel an existing device, my colleague was running a large import (60,000 records) into OpenEMM - different database, same machine. Apparently, the machine was a bit thin on memory and CPU cycles at the time.
