I get an error which should not be there according to the install instructions.
Running zenoss start as user zenoss: Daemon: zentrap starting... /usr/local/zenoss/bin/zenfunctions: line 61: /usr/local/zenoss/bin/zensocket: Permission denied /usr/local/zenoss/bin/zenfunctions: line 61: exec: /usr/local/zenoss/bin/zensocket: cannot execute: Success I ran the two chown and chmod commands on zensocket (twice) but there's obviously still some permission error which I can't identify. Running grep "^SUDO" * shows: zendisc:SUDO="$ZENHOME/bin/zensocket --ping -- " zenmail:SUDO="$ZENHOME/bin/zensocket --listen --proto=tcp --port=25 -- " zenping:SUDO="$ZENHOME/bin/zensocket --ping -- " zenpop3:SUDO="" grep: zensocket: Permission denied zensyslog:SUDO="$ZENHOME/bin/zensocket --listen --proto=udp --port=514 -- " zentrap:SUDO="$ZENHOME/bin/zensocket --listen --proto=udp --port=162 -- " zensocket is owned root:zenoss and is set to 04750. Zenoss was installed as user & group zenoss. Being my first install I have nothing to compare with. ------------------------ Bobby -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=11718#11718 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
