Since you are using the Core version your possibilities of monitoring http are pretty much limited to simple TCP connect checks. These however are fairly easy to setup:
1. Assuming you've been able to add the device in question to Zenoss, navigate to it. Under the OS tab of the device you should see a variety of tables. Interfaces, OS Processes, IP Services, etc. The IP Services table has a check box in its header labeled "Monitored". Check this box. 2. After the table expands there should be a list of IP Services that Zenoss has discovered to be running on this device. Your various HTTP services should be amongst them, although they might not be labeled very nicely at this point. Click on one of the services. 3. This will take you to the service configuration tab for this specific machine. If this service runs on many machines and you want all of them to be monitored for this specific service you should now continue to click on the link shown under "Service Class". If this service is an individual instance you can simply turn the "Monitor" drop-down box to True and press the "Save" button on the bottom of the page. Assuming you've selected the Service Class you will now be brought to a new page. There you will be able to see every device that has this IP Service running on it. If you want to turn on monitoring for every instance you can simply click the "Edit" tab at the top of the "Service Class" screen. This screen will allow you to modify the service as you desire. You can change the name, description, and also turn on monitoring for the entire environment. Press "Save" to make your changes persistent.
