like you said in your pm xmlrpc is about the easist method... you can use any 
language that supports this and even one that doesnt really support it since 
its basically a socket connection. i have never needed to do this, but if you 
know some php i might be able to help you out as i have spent quite some time 
doing xml/ socket comms in php :(
