After further investigation, sometimes the backup script was working and sometimes it was not. When it fails, cron gives me the following messages encountered by zenbackup. What do these mean, and why would they cause the backup to fail?
In the meantime, I've put the backup in a loop so it will make 50 attempts before giving up--sometimes on the retries it doesn't encounter these errors and is able to back itself up. tar: perf/Devices/LOUL2A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_15/ifInOctets_ifInOctets.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/LOUL2A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_16/ifInErrors_ifInErrors.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/LOUL2A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_26/ifOutUcastPackets_ifOutUcastPackets.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/LOUL2A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_26/ifOperStatus_ifOperStatus.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/LOUL2A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface/ifOutErrors_ifOutErrors.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/DALR4A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_5/ifOutOctets_ifOutOctets.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/DALR4A/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_23/ifOutUcastPackets_ifOutUcastPackets.rrd: file changed as we read it tar: perf/Devices/TXDATASW01/os/interfaces/Ethernet Interface_21/ifInErrors_ifInErrors.rrd: file changed as we read it -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=12266#12266 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
