Hey guys, we're looking at VMwares infrastructure products and how things may/may not work with Zenoss. I have little to no experience with VMwares products outside of what is free, so I would appreciate any advice.
>From what I know of Zenoss core 2.1 (still using 2.0 so i haven't seen the new >one), Zenoss can trend and monitor ESX server instance and that's about it. >Looking at VMwares website, they have a product called Virtual Center. It >appears to do what Zenoss does but with a couple bells and whistles just for >the VMs. My question is: For those of you who have virtual or mostly virtual infrastructures, how do you use Zenoss with that environment? Do you use a combination of Zenoss and Virtual Center or do you add Virtual Center-like features to Zenoss yourself? Personally, Zenoss has more capability and I'd prefer to integrate the entire world into zenoss (this is my dream - one server room, one monitoring system). It seems simple enough to add backend scripts to do what Virtual Center claims to do for you, but I thought I was ask the wise voice of experience before I do too much of my own thinking ;) So please, any information would be greatly appreciated.
