I know this is a rather old thread, but thought it worth tagging one more response:
I've found the "genconf" directive for all of the zen monitors a life saver! For any of the monitors, e.g., zencommand, zenping, etc., you can simply execute from the command line: zencommand genconf and it prints (default stdout) a default config file. What I did was iterate all of the commands and redirect output to etc/monitorname.conf.sample, copy the sample to the "empty" conf file and work from that. It's a really great way to have a config file that specifies explicitly all options, and lists what the defaults would be otherwise. NOTE: do not invoke as an option, e.g. "--genconf", it's a directive and therefore requires NO preceding dashes. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13204#13204 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
