The latest packaged version of Zenoss Core, version 2.1.1 is available for
download.

Zenoss Core 2.1.1 is available from: http://www.zenoss.com/download.

Please note!: ZENMIGRATE MUST BE RUN AFTER UPGRADING TO THIS RELEASE. RPM and
appliance upgrades will perform this step automatically. Source upgrades need
to run zenmigrate manually.

This release adds some new functionality and a couple new ZenPacks as well as
many fixes and small additions. Each is detailed below.

In addition to these Core updates, Zenoss Enterprise 2.1 has also been
released. Get more information about the added functionality in Zenoss
Enterprise 2.1 from http://www.zenoss.com/product/zenoss-enterprise-2-1?mm

NEW FEATURES IN 2.1.1

* Added support for SNMPv3 (79)

* New import and export of ZenPacks through the web user interface. (2246)

* New RPM of Core ZenPacks that will install all of the core ZenPacks in one
easy install.

* New HPMonitor ZenPack for HP/Compaq Insight Management Agent monitoring (2222)

* New DellMonitor ZenPack for Dell OpenManage monitoring (2223)

* New ApacheMonitor ZenPack

* New MySqlMonitor

ZENPACK INFRASTRUCTURE

* Spaces in ZenPack names are no longer allowed. Previously spaces would break
things and now they are prohibited. (2287)

* Instaling a ZenPack without the proper Zenoss environment is prohibited and
an warning message is displayed. (1848)

* Moved the ZenPack Export menu item into the page menu (instead of the table
menu) (2279)

* Fixes to ZenPack requirements for packs with all requirements being met.(2268)

* A skins directory must exist for ZenPacks so if a skins directory does not
exist in a ZenPack, it is created during load (2297, r7404)

USER INTERFACE

* Zenoss server time is displayed on all Zenoss pages. (2069, 2315, 2289)

* Made the loading of Google Map faster when many devices are being mapped.
(2265)

* Changed flash detection mechanism for Network map. Now uses SWFObject. (2179)

* Google Maps portlet now respects dashboard priority for events. It now
(correctly) prevents events on devices not in production from appearing. (2160)

* When filtering the device list, pressing 'Enter' no longer causes the page to
reload. (2241)

* Fixed intermittent problem with device list failing to load . (2220)

* Logging info was not displayed when adding a device. Failure to load a
device or other issues now display a more descriptive message. (2233)

* Adding routes was a little confusing, because there was no indication that a
route requires the /24 style netmask. The netmask is now a separate entry after
the address as in the example: [192.168.1.0] / [24]. (2099)

* Dashboard portlets only allow access to permitted objects. (2275)

* The Device Issues portlet severity is now correctly restricted to errors and
criticals. (2276)

* Selecting any event type in the summary table for Groups, Locations and
systems now brings the user to a specific /dmd/Locations/viewEvents or
/Group/viewEvents or /System/viewEvents page. (2327)

Various User Interface clean-up items to make Zenoss prettier:
* Made sure all links in tables are underlined (2283)
* Added left pane background for Logging and error pages (2311)
* Device Search label positioning fix (2300)
* Device/IP Search label cleanup (2319)
* Widened table headers (2318)

Various fixes to the User Interface to allow for more pleasant Internet
Explorer 7 use:
* Corrected login form message alignment in IE7 (2320)
* Fixed horizontal rainbow wraps in IE7 (2243)
* Removed empty whitespace below component tables in IE7 (2244)
* Fixed Device status page failures in IE7 (2192)
* Fixed "Add Datasource" rendering in IE7 (2272)
* Additional Internet Explorer 7 rendering issues (2210)

ZENRRD

* Zencommands that return multiple datapoints could clear thresholds
improperly. This problem was fixed by adding the full datapoint name to the
eventKey field. (2177)

ZENPLUGINS

* DellDeviceMap and HPDeviceMapp were overwriting each other’s data. Added a
condition so that they would only run when appropriate (2208)

PERFORMANCE REPORTING

* MultiGraphReports graph group sequence is now followed properly. (2185)

* MultiGraph Report Titles are now used at the top of the report (2171)

* MultiGraph Reports more resilient to missing RRD files. (2237)

* GraphReports device filter only matches start of device names (2053)

* When a ThresholdGraphPoint is added, graphpoints are now resequenced
properly. (2215)

* ThresholdGraphPoints are more tolerant of threshold removal (2184)

* Removed the cryptic Data Thresholds labels in graph legends (2186)

* If you use TALES expressions to bring in graph legends that contain illegal
characters for RRDTool, they can break the graph. We have created an escape
graph legends for RRDTool to deal with this. (2197)

* Fixed Graph Display Error in ThresholdGraphPoint.py (2191)

USER/ALERTS

* Dialog to add users to group now allows for multiple selections. (2109)

* Fixed Group alerts causing traceback in zenactions log (2224)

* Fixed group alerting rules only sending email to first member of group. (2234)

EVENT MANAGEMENT

* Event regex matching should work on message not summary (2235)

* Removed Default Event Id setting from ZenEventManager->Fields page (2306)

* Fixed problem where EventCommands producing no output log "command timed out"
errors (2305)

* Handle syslog messages with hostname more reliably (1913)

ZENSTATUS

* pingtree now builds a more complete topology and sweeps secondary IP
addresses on interfaces (2260)

ZENDISC

* Fixed zendisc failure when using --net argument (2290)

ZENMODEL

* Fixed error in moveDevicesToClass when no devices are selected. (2202)

* Fixed monitoring even after monitor volume set to false (2310)

ZENMIGRATE

* Fixed zenmigrate GraphDefinitionsAndFriends acquisition. (2273)

ZENHUB

* Zenoss now handles long values passed to ZenHub's writeRRD via XML-RPC
better. (2218)

ADDITIONAL CHANGES

(2178)

Enjoy,
