I have a W2K3 server that no stats were showing and was producing warnings for SideBySide / SxS like:
Code: Generate Activation Context failed for C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.MFC_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.163_x-ww_39049D00\MFC80.DLL. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. Based on some Googling, this seems to be a bug with the "manifest" for some component of Visual C++ that references the "wrong" version of VC80, whatever that means (sounds like MS wanabe Java thing to me). In any case, downloading and installing vcredist_x86.exe for W2K3 SP1 seems to have fixed the problem, the warning messages stopped, and now Perf and OS stats pages are working. Go to Microsoft Download Center and search for vcredist_x86 then choose the one for your version and SP level of W2K3 (don't want to provide a hard link as that may change later). NB if you are running x64 edition, you will probably want to look for vcredist_x64 instead. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13440#13440 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
