I issued the ls -la on the zensocket module and this is the output.

I have not defined the variable zenhome at this point, is the
variable needed for anything other than administration ease at this
point?
Permissions look good. $ZENHOME is very important to the operation of
Zenoss. If you installed via RPMs, the .bashrc for your zenoss user
should include all of the required environmental setup. Make sure
you're running the zenoss commands as the zenoss user, or you will run
into all sorts of problems.
