I ran into this issue (with zeneperfsnmp starting up anyway). This was due to a bad graph template (rpn setup) I was working on. As soon as I cleared the template the new devices added were able to be collected. It would be nice if zenperfsnmp could handle this a little better or at least indicate in the error what the problem really is.
