Thanks for the responses. I was aware of being able to set each interface to not be monitored. But in the case of three switches with 300+ interfaces each it's just not an option.
It looks like traps will have to be the way to go. Now, in the case of trapping specific interface data, is it possible to get performance data from these traps? For example, interface bandwidth, etc. My main concern is disabling all performance modeling by default on our switches and routers, and only enabling performance monitoring on specific interfaces on each switch/router, so I can monitor traffic between larger locations/wan connections, etc. Also, if I change, in the zProperties, to not monitor specific interfaces and I re-model the device, are these changes lost, and the Monitor Setting will be set back to True?
