I like a lot of the new functionality and flexibility of the
interface (drag/drop organizing, etc) but absolutely detest the huge
bubble appearance.. the old grid layout, with names attached to
acknowledgements and such is far more to my liking.
So two questions:
1 - can I get that old look back and still have the new zenoss
engine (2.1.2), if yes where do I change a setting to get it back to
that?
2 - if the above answer is 'no', how far back in versions do I have
to go to get it?
You could get it back, but it isn't as simple as a setting. What you
should do is grab the template file that makes up the dashboard on
the 2.0.x branch and make it your system's custom dashboard template.
1. Go to http://yourzenoss:8080/zport/portal_skins/zenmodel/manage
2. Click into "Dashboard"
3. Click Customize
You'll want to paste in the contents of the old Dashboard template to
this custom version you've just created. You can find this at http://dev.zenoss.org/svn/branches/zenoss-2.0.x/Products/ZenModel/skins/zenmodel/Dashboard.pt
