I know what you must all be thinking. "Oh no, another post about maintenance windows! Will he ever stop?!?" ;-)
Don't worry, this is a happy post (mostly)! For a while something has been nagging at me about how I have my windows set up...see, I have a few windows that happen daily on specific sub-systems (/Systems/Blackboard, for example) and those always work. But my one global blackout window (set on the root, /Systems) for Sunday reboots would never work--devices would enter the window but never get their state reset at the end of the window. Well, before I left for Christmas I had a brainstorm. I added all my devices to a sub-system at /Systems/AllSystems, and set my Sunday reboot window on that sub-system instead of on the root of /Systems. Guess what? It works like a champ. I'll let everyone breathe a collective sigh of relief that this thread is finally (hopefully) going to die in the near future. ;-) So....it looks like the issue is setting a maintenance window on the root /Systems object. Can anyone confirm that this is the behavior that they see as well? --seth -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=14888#14888 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
