There is some old documentation on the Zenoss website. While at rev 1.X you must run zendump to export the database. Upgrade to Zenoss 2.0 and then run zenload (I think that is the command) in order to reimport the 1.x data. There where significant changes from the 1.x release to the 2.0 release that require this type of upgrade.
