hmm.. how big is 'too big for MySQL'?

this kind of worries me... I am not a big fan of MySQL, but I'm happy to use it if it will do the job... BUT if it can't handle loads of data....

Is there support for connecting Zenoss to PostgreSQL backend?

MySQL is the only relational backend for Zenoss right now. MySQL is used all over the world to handle massive data loads. More than anything you'd ever throw at it with Zenoss. Just as with PostgreSQL it is all in the proper configuration of the database. It just so happens that the default configuration for the InnoDB storage engine in MySQL wasn't appropriate for the amount of events entered to it in this situation.
