I'm running Zenoss 2.0.0 with Debian and have working process monitoring. I haven't tried locking a process, so I'm not sure what the effects of that are. Perhaps try turning off the lock to make sure that isn't doing something unexpected? I assume you've set your process' Monitor option to 'True' and have the Severity set to a reasonable level?
