Indeed. This is important to remember when you're behind a corporate web
filter. In my case, the API calls are blocked by our filter, so I had to
request that the URIs being used were put on the "allow" list.
Otherwise, you'll get a map, but no points :(

The client/browser makes all of the Google Maps related queries. So as
long as you set your brower's proxy settings it'll work.
