I have a question regarding the default ssCpuRawIdle_ssCpuRawIdle threshold returning 0.00 on about 50% of my servers. This is the event description: "<device> threshold of CPU Utilization not met: current value 0.00"
The servers are actually idle, but why would this be a problem? My event log is full of about 75 servers constantly getting an event for exceeding this threshold. I can turn off the threshold of course, but there must be a logical reason to include it in the default performance template. Here is a sample snmpwalk output of the ssCpuRawIdle oid from one of my failing servers: UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuRawIdle.0 = Counter32: 4294967295 The datapoint for this OID is set to DERIVE. I guess this starts at 0 and increments as time goes by. Why is this number so large and how is it being interpreted as a 0.00 on the graph? I have restarted snmpd but the counter is still stratospheric. Any ideas?
