I had experienced the same issue with my setup. I resolved it by increasing our 
network DNS resolution speed when forwarders are used (any internet traffic). 

I changed our DNS forwarders on our internal DNS servers to opendns servers and 
I haven't had the problem since then while in the main office. I still have the 
issue when I'm using the Zenoss site from network locations that do not use the 
same DNS servers as the main office.

Perhaps implementing a way to delay the dots being drawn to allow for longer 
lookup times may resolve the bigger issue.
