I'm a newbie, so, I'm sure I must be doing something very stupid somewhere. But, I can't for the life of me figure it out. I'm just trying to follow the example in section 14.1 of the guide to do a simple event command.
The example command uses echo to send events to /tmp/cmdoutput. It suggests using a filter, and I've tried it with and without a filter. Then in 14.2, it suggests manually adding an event to test. I do that, and the vent does show up in the vent table. But nothing ever goes into /tmp/cmdoutput I cut-and-pasted the sample echo string from 14.1, so, that should be correct. I set it to enabled. What else could be missing? I'm using 2.0.4 in a virtual appliance under Windows XP Pro. I'm only using that older version as that is what I happened to start out with. I started this project a few months ago and then got pulled away and just now getting back to it.
