Hi, This is my first time with Zenoss. My version details are as follows:
Zenoss Zenoss 2.1.2 OS Linux (i686) 2.6.23 (Linux zenoss.ncct.local 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 #1 SMP Tue Oct 30 13:55:12 EDT 2007 i686) Fedora 8 Zope Zope 2.8.8 Python Python 2.4.4 Database MySQL 5.0.45 (Ver 5.0.45) RRD RRDtool 1.2.23 Twisted Twisted 2.5.0 SNMP PySNMP 3.4.3 Twisted SNMP TwistedSNMP 0.3.13 NetSnmp NetSnmp 5.4.1 Question: I need to keep a running log of events for, lets say, a month. The rest of the events data, rrd data, and any other data not relevant for the running month I need extracted from the DB, etc and archived/backed up from the machine for offline storage. This needs to be "re-added" if neccessary at a later stage, should we need to do analysis. Whats is the best way to go about this? Is it possible? Is there any script I could use to take anything in the DB older than 30 days and migrate to seperate server? I log alot of events. And unfortunately, I need to log alot more. Performance drops after a few days and maybe the "offload" will help. Are there any optimization tools I could use instead? I have searched for a while and can only find posts about zenbackup. can I acheive the above, or something similar with zenbackup? -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=17114#17114 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
