I have been attempting to install zenoss in our test bed to evaluate its potential for monitoring a couple dozen live production critical systems but, I haven't been able to get it to send me an email alert. Even via the test link.
I have tested on multiple versions finally ending on 2.1.72 with a complete reinstall between each test. Each time, the install is done on a CentOS 5 32bit VM image from the rpm package. I have attempted delivery through two different smpt mail servers. Both using authentication. One operating on port 25 w/o ssl. The other on port 587 with ssl. All attempts result in the following error: Test failed: socket.gaierror - (-2, 'Name or service not known') I'm almost certain this is the result of doing something or missing something ridiculously simple. Either I'm missing some dependency or some package is mis-configured. Can anybody point me in the correct direction? -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=17604#17604 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
