I'd like to group a few processes on 5 different devices as one logical
application and monitor the health as one item on a dashboard.

How would I do this with Zenoss?

Say I have a multi-tier application called "Take over the World". It consists
of 3 app servers, a database, a windows machine with a service and a few other
bits all running on boxes that are running more than one application (more than
one app server on a box). I want to be able to group up all the bits that apply
to my "Take over the World" application as one item in Zenoss and monitor that
instead of having to look at each machine/device and determine the health of
the bits that I care about. In many cases I don't care if some things on the
box unrelated to my application are having issues so I want to know the health
of the app and not the box and everything on it.

It hasn't been immediately obvious to me if this can be done with Zenoss. Any
input is appreciated.

I'm doing analysis of a few monitoring systems and Zenoss is on this list. I
have it running in a VM at the moment.

TIA
