Nope, no luck... same behavior&error as before.  Also tried removing zeo1-1.zec 
and restarting all zenoss&zope services.

How does one turn on debugging/turn-up verbosity?  Maybe that will help point 
out where zenoss is "deciding" to use the localhost for the mysql db instead of 
the external mysql server.
