FTR, I almost never post "RTFM" types of responses, but in this case the search function wasn't even needed - there was a topic with "bad oid" on the subject on the front page of the forum. I shouldn't have done that anyhow - sorry - I was just finishing a patience trying day at work and was being a dick - so, again, sorry.
Re the search sucking - that hasn't been my experience at all. I've managed to answer about half of my own questions with the forum search and some google fu.
