Problem solved. Thanks Jason for your expert advise. Indeed some of the ZenPack 
components are broken.

These are the steps I follow to fix this problem.

Essentially follow the standard upgrade procedure in 
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/install-guides/externalcontent.2007-11-20.3395229630/index.html

But carry out step 7 as root ignoring these processes that didn't start after 
zenmigrate. Then performs a "zenoss start" which get everything running again!
