The zenoss server continues to have trouble communicating with itself, not sure why. Since 4/9, I've been receiving the 'heartbeat failure' error from the zenperfsnmp component, and it's occurred some 18000 times.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] zenoss]# cat /etc/hosts #Installed by rBuilder 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost 172.16.24.4 bivmzenoss.panora.local [EMAIL PROTECTED] zenoss]# hostname bivmzenoss.panora.local [EMAIL PROTECTED] zenoss]# nslookup bivmzenoss.panora.local Server: 172.16.12.254 Address: 172.16.12.254#53 Name: bivmzenoss.panora.local Address: 172.16.24.4 [EMAIL PROTECTED] zenoss]# nslookup 172.16.24.4 Server: 172.16.12.254 Address: 172.16.12.254#53 4.24.16.172.in-addr.arpa name = bivmzenoss.panora.local. [EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# snmpwalk -c redacted -v 1 bivmzenoss.panora.local | wc -l 1946 We are using a recent version of the vmware appliance, though I'm not sure how to retrieve the version number of it or of zenoss. All of the hostname information seems to resolve forwards and backwards, so I'm at a loss as to why zenpersnmp would not operate correctly. How can I clear this up? Thank you.
