I'm not sure how another linking to another post about not getting AIX monitoring working helps.
We also have AIX 5.3 boxes we're interested in monitoring but it's turning out to be much more difficult then I thought. I'm not an AIX admin, so I'm pretty lost too. We are using the following agents: SNMPv2-MIB::sysORDescr.1 = STRING: AIX SNMP Agent SNMPv2-MIB::sysORDescr.2 = STRING: Host Resources DPI sub-agent Version 1 SNMPv2-MIB::sysORDescr.3 = STRING: AIX Enterprise MIB Support subagent SNMPv2-MIB::sysORDescr.4 = STRING: AIX SNMP MIB SubAgent I did a walk on .1 and there are no CPU values, but a lot of other interesting stuff (including processor load). Looks like we just have a create a whole new template for these agents.
