I've been traveling down this road learning as much as I possibly can, but I feel like I'm hitting a wall. Hopefully someone can provide some assistance.
I'm using SNMP Informant's Advanced agent on a W2K3 server. On Zenoss, I'm using the /Windows/Server template and data wise it isn't reporting Free Memory and Paging in the Performance Graphs. I've walked the MIB as returned from the device and can not find it reporting these OID's. So, naturally I figure they're just wrong in the template and I need to find the correct ones. This is where things get foggy for me. The Informant systems guys do not provide a master list of all the OID's they populate. I don't know why. Maybe they change from system to system? However they do provide a MIB. After some research, it appears to me that the OID's are calculated from reading the MIB. >From here, I have 2 questions: 1- Is there an application out there that will read in the MIB and give me a list of OID's? 2- Should I be feeding this MIB, somehow, to Zenoss to build a new template? I don't know anything about this but it sounds like a possibility. If anyone can help with my questions or provide some clarity on my mental mess, I'd really REALLY appreciate. Thanks for taking the time to read.
