I'm a little curious if anyone has done a comparison of OpManager to Zenoss. This would be a comparison of the Zenoss Core (free) product vs. the pay for OpManager Premium.
So far here are my observations: Zenoss Pros: 1. Free 2. Very flexible, re-writeable code. 3. Nagios Plugin Support Zenoss Cons: 1. Very elementary reporting. 2. Very unintuitive UI. 3. Very steep learning curve, even with the documentation. 4. Confusing time issues with notifications. OpManager Pros: 1. VERY intuitive UI 2. Awesome and polished reporting. 3. Fairly broad O/S support. 4. Not very much load on the host system. OpManager Cons: 1. It costs money. However, not very much money. Honestly, for my time, $3500 for OpManager is not alot of money compared to what it would costs for the comparable Zenoss Enterprise product. I feel Zenoss E. is way overpriced with things like OpManager out there. Your input is appreciated, feel free to change my mind.
