Ok, after tackling the install, quick start guide, admin guide - I can say this
-
this thing is great ...BUT it has some major problems too.
Here are some of my thoughts on it:

Interface - nice, slick, convenient, easy to grasp and understand once you get
a hang of it, BUT when i am located in the /devices view, after I change the
class of a node why does it have to refresh the page to the class that i just
assigned to the node? whats with that? each time, i have to go back to the
/devices view, select the next node to move and go through the whole navigation
once more.. it just a wast of time and clicks

Auto-discovery - well, this is obviously a nice feature... BUT It could give a
bit more feedback! I just let it loose on a network.. and it gave me a lot of
verbose info. all needed to know...one could expect to see a final message
something like " XXX devices found and allocated to the /Discovered class" and
with all of it clickable - now that would be something useful.

There are a few more inconsistencies that I found like the connections between
IP addresses, Networks, and Devices but its too long to write, if anybody is
interested, drop me an PM.

Now the real problem is the following:

I have cacti setup to monitor my servers right now and its doing a pretty good
job of it (and only it - thats why i'm looking for something else) gathering
the info and showing it to me. In zenoss couldn't show the same information as
cacti did. For example, its not showing me the disk usage as in cacti for the
mounted partitions (i tried to add the df plugin in manage plugins for the
host, tried to add the partition in the OS tab, nothing) of course i checked
the snmp settings and made sure that they were the same. plain old snmpwalk
shows the disks just fine, zenoss is having trouble with it.
another example - free memory. cacti shows me: Memory Free, Memory Buffers and
Cache Memory, zenoss - memAvailReal.

While zenoss is going on to become the leader, it still looks like it has some
functionality issues...

p.s. all above is imho, so don't stone me =)
