All, I searched the archives and didn't see an answer to this. If it has been covered, let me know.
I am adding some older Redhat 8 systems (can't be upgraded right now) to Zenoss and most of them model fine and produce performance stats. A few of them have unstable SNMP agents (same version as the stable ones) that time out during an snmpwalk, then the agent goes non-responsive. I also see the agent quit responding when I try the model a device. Once the agent goes non-responsive; I can't stop it with service snmpd stop. I have to do a kill (or kill -9) and even that take a while sometimes. I don't see any errors in /var/log/messages. Has anyone seen this? or better yet fixed it? =) Thanks...BobJ
