I am trying to accomplish the same thing. I was able to get it to work on my
experimental XP machine that is on the domain. I can not get it to work from
either Domain Controller. Here are the steps that I took:

* Installed and configured SNMP
* Created a user called Zenoss on the domain and added it to the Distributed
COM Users group
* Membership in the Distributed COM USers group only effects DCs. For member
servers or desktops need to edit DCOM permissions:
- Run dcomcnfg
- Go to component services
- Double click on computers
- Right click on My Computer and go to properties
- Click on the COM Security tab
-- Under Access Permissions click Edit Limits
--- Add user and give remote access rights
-- Under Launch and activation permissions click Edit limits
--- Add user and give remote launch and remote activation rights

* Go to computer management > Services and applications > WMI Control
- Left click on WMI Control and then right click on it and go to properties
- Click on the Security tab
- Doubleclick on Root and then click on CIMV2
- Click the security button
- Click Advanced
-- Click Add and add account from before
-- Choose Apply onto this namespace and subnamespaces
-- Give the following permissions: Enable account, Remote Enable

This worked fine for the XP machine (after I temporarily turned off its
firewall), but it will not work on the DCs.

Please let me know if you find anything out, or if you notice any security
threats I may be inviting by doing this. My primary focus is to be as secure as
possible, hence not using a domain admin or local admin account for this.[/list]
