Sounds like this can be done with a portlet on the dashboard, by looking at a device's "Component Type", where it is broken down into FileSystem, IPService, OSProcess, etc. If any of these are not green, then they will show the specific metric and it's corresponding color. Also, if you want system level summaries, you can add devices to Systems. Then all you need to do is create your systems hierarchy and you can view device status that way.
