Since I haven't seen an answer for you, I'll take a stab at it.

To get a list of the devices in a rack, you'll have to create a custom
device report. For instance, I have a report with the following columns:
id
manageIp
getLocationName
snmpLocation
rackSlot
snmpContact

I have my locations defined down to the rack (ie. /Springfield/ANPI/Computer
Room/Rack C03 and we have the rack in snmpLocation.

To narrow the list to just a given rack. Put the rack in the search for the
report.

As for searching for a given tag, the only way I can think of to do it would
be to create a custom report of the tag numbers and then use the search to
narrow it to the one you're looking for.

Subject: [zenoss-users] New user question: Reports and searching

I'm hoping to become a Nagios covert. I'm running concurrently at the
moment, and working on getting all of my servers and services added. So
far, I really like that I can put in the type of equipment, the location,
the rack slot it's in, and the service tag/serial number. But once that's
in there, I can't do much with it.

I'd like to be able to make a report that shows me what is in each rack, and
I'd also like to be able to search for a service tag. Not sure how to do
either of these - can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Daryl
