I keep receiving the following error message when attempting to monitor a Windows Server 2003 SP2 domain controller:
Code: WMI connect error on SERVER_NAME: com_error(-2147217405): WBEM_E_ACCESS_DENIED I added an account called "zenoss" in AD Users & Computers, set a password, and added it to the Domain Admins security group. Then I forced a GPO refresh on the DC, ensured that SNMP was configured correctly, and added the device within Zenoss. Then I added the "zenoss" account details to the /Devices zProperties tab, being sure to use the domain\username syntax. The device is modeled correctly, but after a few minutes, I receive the above error message in the Events tab. In an attempt to remedy this, I've shortened the account's password from 127 to 63 to 20 characters, removed any special characters that may be parsed incorrectly, changed the domain to the pre-Windows 2000 name, and verified WMI security settings on the DC. The zenwin log shows the following message: Code: 2008-06-26 11:35:54 WARNING zen.zenwin: WMI Connection to SERVER_NAME went down I'm not sure what to try next. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=21858#21858 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
