I am looking for best practices on how to show details like what
DeviceOrganizerStatus shows for a subset of devices, narrowed down by Location
and further narrowed down by System.

Background:
My company uses Zenoss Enterprise 2.1.3 at eight sites globally.
It's a hit.
All staff like the DeviceOrganizerStatus overview window. By opening up
http://zenoss:8080/zport/dmd/Devices/Server/deviceOrganizerStatus
staff get a quick summary of how Linux, HPUX, ESX and Windows servers are doing.

Staff really, really like this view, and are abusing Zenoss to force that view
from other groups. :(

We use the Systems organizer to group devices by function: our compute farm is
in System/LSF, web in System/web, Citrix farm in System/Citrix.

We group the Locations organizer so each site has a Location. So Bangalore,
Allentown, etc each get a Location.

The problem I have is that the compute farm manager wants an overview like
'deviceOrganizerStatus' to see Systems sub grouped by Location.
Another variant of this problem is that the site administrator for Allentown
wants to see Locations sub grouped by System.

What this means is that some managers have created:
Systems/Citrix/Allentown
Systems/Citrix/Bangalore
Systems/LSF/Allentown
Systems/LSF/Bangalore
while the site admin for Allentown has created:
Locations/Allentown/Citrix
Locations/Allentown/LSF
and the site admin for Bangalore has created:
Locations/Bangalore/Citrix
Locations/Bangalore/LSF

I find this complicates Locations, Systems, reports, alert rules, and lots
more. :-)
I looked at custom reports, but that doesn't show the Event indicator
color/count the way admins want to see it, and doesn't link to the specific
events.

Has anyone found a better way to show a summary of
device name | Subs |Devices | Events
without creating a location called
Locations/Allentown/LSF
and without creating a System called
Systems/LSF/Allentown
?

I searched the forum for Reports and Location but I didn't find any good leads.

Thanks,
