I would have to agree with carver6.  I think zenoss's pricing model of per 
devices is silly.  I could understand per server possibly, but not per device.  
That is too expensive of a solution for most shops.  And I think this drives a 
lot of people, me included, to trying to shoe horn the core edition. 

Also, I'd have to say that Zabbix (http://www.zabbix.com) has a bit of a lead 
on zenoss in terms of distributed monitoring.  For one Zabbix can do an active 
push only configuration, which is excellent behind firewalls.  

I'm really looking for something to easily monitor remote locations in the 
core.  simply adding collectors, to the best of my knowledge won't cut it.  I 
believe this is because the server still has to do all of the discovery even 
though there are multiple collectors?
