Development has already started for the next major Zenoss release, 2.3
(there will continue to be maintenance releases of the 2.2.X series as
well). First of all, thank you all for the generous feedback and
responses to the "Planning the 2.3 Release" thread. We considered and
recorded the input into our backlog and will continue to add features
and improvements in each release. Zenoss is growing and building up
our development infrastructure (more devs, QA, process, etc.) and
we're focusing a lot of engineering effort on improving the product we
have and the quality of our releases and the upgrades between them.
2.3 will be a fairly short release cycle with a focus on improving
Windows, JMX and VMware monitoring. There will undoubtedly be a lot
of defects corrected not related to these topics, but that is the
general theme of the release. There will also be a more vigorous beta-
testing program (for Community and Enterprise users) than previous
releases and we're targeting an October release. Thanks again for all
