That's a pretty generic description of a rather vague problem.
"Nothing has changed" means nothing to anyone but you, since we don't
know what "status quo" is for your install.  You'll probably want to
check that the zenoss services are all still running...at least that'd
be where I would start.  If they are, restart them and go through your
logs to figure out what caused zenoss to die.  Investigate a little
and post your findings, and we might be better able to help you out.

I really don't understand your comments about Linux haters, by the
way.  Just because an application (purportedly) misbehaves doesn't
mean the underlying platform sucks.  Linux is an amazing OS, and can
do many things that I wouldn't trust to a Windows box.  It sounds to
me like you need to learn a little more about Linux and how things
work on that platform.
