I would guess that he means a modeller that uses LLDP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_Layer_Discovery_Protocol), CDP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisco_Discovery_Protocol), NDP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nortel_Discovery_Protocol) and simmilar on routers to automatically detect physical links between routers/switches. This would be presented in a network diagram (somewhat like the Network Map), but that maybe the links between the devices would be color-coded to show the bandwidth utilization. I.e. green/yellow/red.
