Hi Matt
Thanks a lot for the links. I am sure they will prove to be very useful.
However they only deal with one part of the problem i.e. event handling. In our scenario, We would also like to send configuration requests from the external NMS to Zenoss (which is our EMS) . Zenoss then should process the request received, forward the request to appropriate network device/devices and form a response based on corresponding response received from network devices and send it back to the external NMS through some Northbound Interface (NBI). Kindly guide us how can we achieve this with Zenoss?

It sounds to me like you want Zenoss to monitor devices and then
process and resend events to another system that may be aggregating
and correlating events? For event monitoring you'll want to review
the Administration Guide:
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch11.html
Specifically the section on Event Transforms should prove useful:
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch11s15.html
Transforms can theoretically do anything you may need to do with
events, since it's a Python console (rename, resend, consolidate from
different devices, change severity, remap, etc.). Event transforms
with Event Commands will let you do almost anything with events and
external systems (point 1-3):
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch11s14.html
For point 4 there are several techniques you could use to get the
data, but it would probably take some scripting as well.
Thanks,
Matt Ray
