I have a Cisco 3030 VPN device and I want to be able to monitor when a L2L tunnel goes up or down. I've gotten it to the point where the 3030 will send a SNMP trap to Zenoss. I narrowed it down to 2 events on the concentrator that I wanted to log:
CODE - Example Text AUTH/84 - 111688846 08/13/2008 12:00:09.680 SEV=4 AUTH/84 RPT=240 LAN-to-LAN tunnel to headend device 10.0.0.1 connected AUTH/85 - 111693281 08/13/2008 12:05:38.320 SEV=4 AUTH/85 RPT=220 LAN-to-LAN tunnel to headend device 10.0.0.1 disconnected: duration: 0:05:28 When I first got the traps coming in, the summary of an example event would be: snmp trap 1.3.6.1.4.1.3076.1.2.1.1.1.2.0.0 Clicking on the Event Details, and then selecting the Details tab, I found the following 2 entries to be curious: Field Value 1.3.6.1.4.1.3076.2.1.4.4.15.85 111680334 08/13/2008 11:44:17.580 SEV=4 AUTH/85 RPT=218 LAN-to-LAN tunnel to headend device 10.0.0.1 disconnected: duration: 0:00:53 alStatsEventNotificationId AUTH/85 My goal here was to load the proper MIBS from Cisco, and so I used zenmib to load ALTIGA-MIB and ALTIGA-GLOBAL-REG These MIBs loaded and were available in the web interface. But any new events that came in still did not translate the OID to the name value. Getting the summary to change was easy enough (mapping it to a class and using a transform), but I still can't seem to get the Field key in the Event Details to map to a name. I traced part of the MIB to be within the ALTIGA-MIB file and I edited this file and added the two OIDs that could possibly show up with Unique Names and then reran zenmib on the ALTIGA-MIB file. This loaded these 2 OID now with the unique names I listed, but the events summary still shows up with the OID. Do I need to reload anything else to get the Events Details to translate the OID to the name? -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=23663#23663 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
